Johannesburg People’s Pride is a movement in solidarity with politically oriented and socially conscious Pride event that educate and conscientise communities about the struggles that shape our experiences of being queer (Lesbian,Gay, Bisexual, Transgender & Intersex community) in South Africa. The first Johannesburg Peoples Pride March was held on 6 October 2013. Striving for unity, freedom to be, to desire, and to be free from harm. That was only the beginning of a much needed awesomely initiative.

This year’s Johannesburg Peoples Pride will be held at Constitution Hill, Braamfontein on 29 November 2014 – this date falls within the 16 days of Activism of No Violence Against Women and Children. There will be a March starting at 10:00. Then a entertainment and political programme from 13:00. Entrance is free and you can bring along the little ones. In fact the whole family . Bring your own cooler boxes, picnic basket and chairs. You’re welcomed to do so. Food and refreshments will be sold. Now, you might want to read this one out loud – For safety reasons, please do not bring alcohol and refreshments in glass bottles. Pretty please, safety comes first.
