Bold and proud Africa’s biggest Gay awards ceremony, staged in South Africa, celebrating all who support and empower the Gay and Lesbian community. Launched year 2009 serves celebration of particular individuals that the Gay and Lesbian community finds mostly inspiration.
Feather Awards is an annual event that celebrate the lighter side of life moreover paying gratitude to a range of most deserving personalities. It not only an award ceremony but a platform to address LGBTI issues. The ceremony is showing massive growth and development as there are new categories being added as from 2009, this year’s new category in recognition of media bodies that have made remarkable contribution in raising awareness and injecting positive representations of the LGBTI community was “The Media Award of the Year”. Sure down the line there will be a Blogger’s category.
Public figures, TV and Radio personalities, Music, Dance professionals and artists not forgetting writers, bring this ceremony to life making it a sure never to be forgotten day, filled with loads of fun, glitz the glamour and the drama in Gay style.
Here is the 2013( 5th) edition of Feather Awards, held on the 14th of November at the Theatre on The Track Kyalami in Johannesburg, a big improvement from previous year’s venues:

Celebrities looking their best, Entertainment for the night was provided by a number of acts, like Tamara Dey, Kelly Khumalo, KB, and Vintage Cru to name a few. The show will be broadcast live on SABC 1 soon.
Now, for the personalities who stood out walking away with that beautiful Feather Award. Here is the list of the winners:

•Best Styled Male: Thapelo Mokoena
•Hunk of the Year: Pallance Dladla
•Diva Extraordinaire of the Year: Premier Nomvula Mokonyane
•Sport Personality of the Year: Lucas Sithole (Paralympian- winner, US Open Quad Grand Slam)
•Role Model of the Year: Thulani Madondo
•Cutest Couple: Mome & Tall Ass Month
•Hot Chick of the Year: Nomzamo Mbatha
•Media Award of the Year: After 9 (SABC 1)
•Fag hag of the Year: Bujy Bikwa
•Drama Queen of the Year: Savita Mbuli
“Category finalists and winners are selected and adjudicated by a panel consisting of representatives from the media and entertainment industry who are firmly in touch with what’s hot on the SA’s social circuit”.
